This Event is held on the Friday of the Festival at Thougla 5 kilometres from Corryong.
The terrain is indicative of the imagery represented in Banjo Paterson’s famous Poem ‘The Man from Snowy River’. The Re-Enactment is just that, a creative and theatrical portrayal of the poem and a celebration of the life of Jack Riley.
At the Re-Enactment we welcome the return of the Riley’s Riders at 11.30am from their annual ride which is held to commemorate Jack Riley’s life, and to laud the efforts of those who selflessly sought to rescue him under harsh and trying conditions. Jack is reputed to be ‘The Man From Snowy River’ as immortalized in Banjo Paterson’s epic ballad.
The Re-enactment begins at 12.00pm. See all the action portrayed in Banjo Paterson’s legendary poem, witness the chase and the thrill of this unique part of our heritage. This performance will be an hour long, giving everyone plenty of time to get back into town for the Street Parade at 3.00pm.
